The Madison Square Garden Company Names Donna Coleman Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

NEW YORK, Oct. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE:MSG) today announced that Donna Coleman has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer. Ms. Coleman has been serving as interim CFO since May and with this appointment will continue to work closely with the executive management team to support the long-term direction and overall management of the company.

Ms. Coleman provides strategic financial insight on all facets of the business, helping prioritize opportunities and drive value creation. Additionally, she oversees all of MSG's financial and accounting matters, including forecasting, budgeting and financial planning and analysis, as well as the company's treasury, investor relations, tax and risk management functions.  Ms. Coleman will report to MSG president and CEO, David O'Connor.

Prior to joining MSG, Ms. Coleman served as executive vice president of corporate financial planning and control at Cablevision Systems Corporation, where she worked for more than 15 years before retiring from the company in December 2014. In this role, she managed the development and coordination of the company's budget and financial planning as well as the critical accounting and control processes, and risk management functions across the entire corporation. Before this, she was appointed senior vice president of corporate financial planning and control from 2011 to 2012, after serving as senior vice president of planning and operations for more than 10 years. During this time, she was responsible for the company's financial planning activities, including budgets, activity plans, forecasts and the long-term planning process for all of the company's business units and corporate staff.  Ms. Coleman also helped drive the company's key initiatives, including the spin-offs of The Madison Square Garden Company and AMC Networks from Cablevision. In addition, she led the analysis of the company's operational and financial results and worked closely with the divisions to ensure the company met its financial goals.  Ms. Coleman joined Cablevision in 1998 as vice president of financial planning.

Before joining Cablevision, Ms. Coleman held executive financial positions at Woolworth Corporation and Time Warner – Music Sounds Exchange, after spending eight years at Carter Wallace Inc.   Ms. Coleman began her career at Coopers & Lybrand where she held multiple positions in Audit. Ms. Coleman received her bachelor of science in accounting from Fordham University.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
