SkyWest, Inc. Reports Combined October 2015 Traffic for SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines

SKYW

ST. GEORGE, Utah, Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest, Inc., (NASDAQ: SKYW) ("SkyWest") today reported 170,916 block hours in October 2015, compared to 193,145 block hours in October 2014, a decrease of 22,229, or 11.5%.  The net decrease was consistent with SkyWest's fleet transition plan to improve the mix of aircraft in its fleet by adding new dual class aircraft to its fleet, while reducing its 50-seat and 30-seat aircraft.

The year-over-year net change was primarily driven by approximately 9,200 additional block hours from its incremental 76-seat E175 aircraft and a decrease of approximately 29,600 block hours from fewer 50-seat jet (CRJ200s and ERJ135s/145s) and 30-seat turboprop (EMB-120) aircraft.

In October 2015, SkyWest's dual class aircraft (CRJ700s, CRJ900s and E175s) represented approximately 40% of SkyWest's total block hour production for the month compared to approximately 32% for the month of October 2014.

SkyWest reported 1,745,280 block hours for year-to-date October 2015, compared to 1,909,563 block hours year-to-date October 2014, a decrease of 164,283, or 8.6%.  This net change was primarily driven by approximately 86,000 additional block hours from SkyWest's 76-seat E175 aircraft and a decrease of approximately 239,000 block hours from fewer 50-seat jet (CRJ200s and ERJ135s/145s) and 30-seat turboprop (EMB-120) aircraft.

SkyWest had 101,640 departures in October 2015 compared to 114,705 in October 2014, a decrease of 13,065, or 11.4%.  SkyWest generated 3.01 billion available seat miles (ASMs) for October 2015, compared to 3.29 billion ASMs for October 2014, or a 8.5% decrease. Additional flight statistics for October, including passengers enplaned, revenue passenger miles, and passenger load factors, are included in the accompanying table.
