Hilton Worldwide Receives Perfect Score in HRC Foundation's 2016 Corporate Equality Index

HLT

Named a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality

Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT) announced today that for the third year in a row it was awarded a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. Hilton Worldwide is among 407 major U.S. businesses that received top marks this year and were named a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.

“We take pride in celebrating the diversity of our workforce and creating an inclusive working environment,” said Matt Schuyler, chief human resources officer, Hilton Worldwide. "We are honored by this recognition, which is a testament to our commitment to providing a great place to work for all our Team Members."

The 2016 CEI rated 1,027 businesses in the report, which evaluates several initiatives including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency training and public engagement with the LGBT community.

Hilton Worldwide is committed to supporting the LGBT community and has collaborated with leading organizations including HRC, GLAAD, International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, National LGBTQ Task Force, Out & Equal Workplace Advocates and Point Foundation. Additionally, Hilton has been a proud member of the HRC Corporate Coalition Against Anti-LGBT Legislation and the HRC Business Coalition for Equality in support of the Equality Act. Earlier this year, Hilton became the first hospitality company to join the Global Equality Fund, an initiative of the U.S. State Department that advances and protects the human rights of LGBT persons around the world. Hilton also offers an LGBT and Friends Team Member Resource Group in offices across the U.S.

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
