Prudential Group Insurance Names David Zona Chief Operations Officer

David Zona has been appointed as Chief Operations Officer for Prudential Group Insurance, a business of Prudential Financial, Inc (NYSE:PRU). In this role, he will lead all underwriting, claims and service delivery functions across Prudential Group Insurance and is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy that optimizes service, profitability and risk management.

“David’s broad organizational leadership experience, approach to risk portfolio management and success delivering significant improvements leveraging predictive analytics is a tremendous asset to our business,” said Andrew Sullivan, president, Prudential Group Insurance.

Before joining Prudential Group Insurance as Chief Underwriting Officer earlier this year, Zona served as senior vice president with Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), the global industrial insurer of Allianz Group. He was responsible for the operating results of their commercial lines business in the northeast region. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer at Allianz-owned Fireman’s Fund Insurance. Zona’s experience also includes significant leadership positions with Nationwide Insurance and American International Group.

He has a Master of Science in Risk Management & Insurance from Georgia State University and an MBA from Duke University. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.
