Zhaopin.com Announces Top 10 Best Employers for Female Employees

Male and female employees reach consensus for the first time 2015 China Best Employers: women are more concerned about their working environment than salary

SANYA, China, Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Zhaopin Limited's (NYSE: ZPIN) 2015 China Best Employer Awards event, often referred to as the "Academy Awards" of China's human resource sector, was held in Sanya, China.

Zhaopin.com announces Top 10 Employers Gaining Most Attention from Women

During the event, Alibaba Group, Novo Nordisk (China) Pharmaceuticals, JD.com, Phoenix New Media, Joyoung Company Limited, Audi (China) Enterprise Management, China Southern Airlines, Nu Skin, Taikang Life Insurance and Vipshop (China) were issued the Best Employer for Female Employees Awards.

The award was established for the purpose of having an insight into the day-to-day living environment for female employees and gaining a better understanding of how they view their employer's brand and the expectations they have on their employers. The award also aims to enlighten employers in terms of how female employees plan their career paths as well as amplify the story from the employers who are favored by female employees about what it is that these employers are doing right.

"Female employees face more social challenges on their road to success," said Evan Guo, CEO of Zhaopin.com. "Yet, more and more women today are willing to put their time and energy into work and are attaching more importance to their social role as a member of the workforce. Zhaopin aims to improve the awareness and recognition gained by women in the workplace through this award, and provide a space where outstanding female employees can receive the attention they deserve."

The results from three consecutive years of surveys focusing on female employees show that their most pressing concern is the respect that an employer demonstrates for their employees rather than the previous top concern of having access to a comprehensive benefits package. This year's survey revealed that there are fewer differences between male and female in terms of how they view corporate reputation and branding as well as the salary and benefits package. Both consider respect, the benefits package and a fair and impartial human resources agenda as the key characteristics of best employers. In addition, female employees pay more attention than male employees to an employer's composite indicators as they seek employment with companies that have the best management and the most comfortable working environment. Companies find it a challenge to present the best image of themselves to female employees.

The China Best Employer is a "best employer" survey conducted by Zhaopin.com together with Peking University's Corporate Social Responsibility and Employer Brand Communication Research Center, and aims to drive companies to further promote and implement employer branding by selecting and recognizing benchmark firms that have created an outstanding employer brand. Founded in 2005, the event was the first such event during which the concept of an "Employer Brand" was rolled out onto a public communication platform in China. China Best Employer Award will serve to promote branding and to relate the stories of the best employers among the general public with the aim of driving more Chinese companies to proactively develop and implement new employer branding strategies and to better adapt to changes in the HR market. This year's survey received applications from about 200 cities across China, and more than 5,400 employers were selected to participate in the process, representing an increase of 83% from last year.
