CARDSTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Jan. 4, 2016) - American Creek Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:AMK) ("American Creek" or "the Corporation") wishes to provide an update on recent events related to the legal action previously filed in the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench against Teuton Resources Corp. ("Teuton"), Dino Cremonese ("Cremonese"), Amanda Mullin ("Mullin"), Gary Assaly ("Assaly") and others.
American Creek continues to pursue its claim against the defendants named in the previously filed amended Statement of Claim. In pursuit of its claims, the Corporation has today served a number of the defendants, including Teuton and Teuton's President, Cremonese, with a summary judgment application in relation to its claims in defamation.
The Corporation will continue to pursue the balance of its claims in further court proceedings against both the defendants named in the summary judgment application and those not named in this application.
The Corporation has also become aware of the fact that Holmes & King, one of Teuton's former legal counsels that withdrew from representing Teuton citing "professional" and "ethical" reasons, has initiated legal proceedings against Teuton in the British Columbia Supreme Court in an effort to collect substantive unpaid legal fees. The Corporation is at present uncertain how this action by Holmes & King will affect Teuton's ability to pay potential damages to American Creek related to the Corporation's legal action against Teuton.
The Corporation will provide further updates as events materialize.
