In her new role, Williams-Smith will oversee the development of the
SafeHouse brand. This news follows The Marcus Corporation’s June
acquisition of the SafeHouse in Milwaukee.
“Peggy has been instrumental in creating memorable food and beverage
experiences in our hotels across the country, as well as developing many
successful concepts in our Marcus Restaurant Group portfolio, including
the Miller Time Pub & Grill, Mason Street Grill and ChopHouse brands.
Her 18 years of experience in the hospitality business and strong
passion and proven expertise in creating distinctive food and beverage
experiences with exceptional customer service will be a great foundation
as we enhance and build the SafeHouse concept,” said Joseph Khairallah,
chief operating officer of Marcus Hotels & Resorts.
Williams-Smith most recently served as corporate vice president of food
and beverage overseeing food and beverage operations nationally,
including 19 hotel properties and 40 restaurant and beverage outlets.
She joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts as a catering manager with the Hilton
Milwaukee in 1997. During her career with the company, she served in a
variety of positions, including director of catering for the Hilton
Milwaukee and The Pfister Hotel, general manager of Brynwood Country
Club, senior director of catering sales and event operations and
corporate director of catering.
Williams-Smith is the current Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of
the American Heart Association of Southeastern Wisconsin and sits on the
Boards of the MATC Foundation and the Vince Lombardi Charitable
Foundation. She is a steering committee member of Milwaukee Women Inc.
and past president of TEMPO Milwaukee. She is currently co-chairing the
UPAF (United Performing Arts Fund) 2016 city-wide campaign.
Williams-Smith received a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from
the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
