ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Jan. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Software company IntraNext Systems, today announced an agreement with The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU), a leader in global payment services, for use of a Western Union patent—U.S. Patent No. 8,582,764—specifically designed to conceal credit card information when consumers make payments over the phone.
When calling customer care centers, consumers can now use their telephone key pads to enter their credit card information directly into the payment system, as opposed to verbally sharing with the contact center agent. iGuard, IntraNext's new security application, allows this level of protection during the call with no transfers or automated systems required. By leveraging this new technology, call center agents are no longer exposed to sensitive information, reducing the card data footprint. iGuard is recognized as a PA-DSS (Payment Application Data Security Standard) validated application by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Council.
"The idea for this enhanced security framework is aligned with Western Union's drive to bring innovation to the marketplace," said John Dye, Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Western Union.
This emerging solution will usher in a new era of much-improved customer confidence. In addition to masking sensitive data from the agent, it improves customer support by ensuring an agent is available to help throughout the call, improving the client experience.
"As transaction security becomes a growing concern and outstanding customer service increasingly becomes a competitive differentiator, companies transitioning to this new technology will benefit from the resulting efficiency, accuracy, and low-impact system integration," said Patrick Brown, President of IntraNext.
