Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) announced today that it has acquired Sirio Pharma
Co. Ltd.’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Treerly Health Co., Ltd., and its
family of Treerly products.
Treerly is one of the top healthcare brands in China’s retail channel
and consists of an extensive portfolio of products uniquely designed to
meet women’s nutritional healthcare needs throughout their lives. The
Treerly portfolio complements Pfizer Consumer Healthcare’s product
portfolio in China and will strengthen its position as a leading
provider of over-the-counter (OTC) dietary supplements. Pfizer Consumer
Healthcare’s Caltrate® calcium supplements and Centrum® multivitamin
supplements are among the top three brands in the OTC vitamin and
minerals supplement category in China.
Sirio Pharma is a private, closely-held contract manufacturing company
in China that produces dietary supplements and drugs. Sirio is currently
a qualified third-party supplier to Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. Under
the terms of the agreement, Sirio will continue to supply the
high-quality Treerly family of products to Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.
“The acquisition of the Treerly brand and its family of products will
enhance the portfolio of dietary supplements we offer to our retail
customers in China and will enable us to help more consumers improve
their health and well-being,” said Keith Choy, regional president, Asia
Pacific, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. “The addition of the Treerly
products will also make it possible to leverage our existing sales and
marketing capabilities and be more efficient in launching future
innovations for consumers in China,” he said.
