("Melkior") (TSX VENTURE:MKR)(OTC PINK:MKRIF)(FRANKFURT:MEK) (is pleased to announce the appointments of Sabino Di Paola, currently Melkior's Chief Financial Officer, as the new interim Chief Executive Officer and President, and Wayne Holmstead, P. Geo as the Exploration Manager, for the Company. The changes in management follows the retirement of Jens Hansen, P. Eng, current Chief Executive Officer and President of Melkior.
Wayne has recently supervised a drill program on Melkior's Timmins Carscallen property and is developing an important compilation and model for this key property.
Wayne is a graduate in Earth Sciences (Geology) from the University of Toronto. His extensive experience covers the complete geological and geophysical suite of exploration techniques with an emphasis on Ontario and Quebec. Positions include exploration for Majors and executive positions in junior companies with financial responsibility. His exploration work has led to the identification of significant exploration targets and the discovery of several mineral deposits including gold, molybdenum, base metals and Platinum Group Elements. He is experienced in traditional prospecting and geology as well as the latest digital techniques.
Melkior is adequately positioned in the current environment to continue its important exploration business.
