RBC partners with TechToronto.org to strengthen and grow the technology community in GTA

TORONTO, Feb. 1, 2016 /CNW/ - Calling all self-proclaimed tech-geeks, Toronto startups and entrepreneurs. Toronto's best and brightest technologists will converge on RBC's WaterPark Place once a month to mingle and hear tech leaders and innovators share their expertise and experiences.

RBC signed on to be TechToronto.org's annual champion and key sponsor, bringing together the city's tech leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts for monthly events throughout 2016.

Speakers from some of Toronto's most influential and innovative technology companies share a lesson learned, a counter-intuitive finding, or demo a product, giving the city's technologists a place to share, learn, and make new connections. Staying true to the startup vibe, attendees keep it casual and network over pizza and drinks.

TechToronto is the creation of Jason Goldlist and Alexander Norman. The organization was founded in 2014 as a way to strengthen and grow the city's tech community, and support the people, companies and infrastructure surrounding them.

"We are first and foremost entrepreneurs ourselves," said Jason Goldlist, co-founder TechToronto.org. "TechToronto is simply a way for our community to build the connections and knowledge they need to succeed and compete globally."

Coming from a humble beginning of just a handful of attendees at their first meetup, TechToronto has grown to over 8,500 members, 100 alumni speakers, and upwards of 500 attendees each month.
