Clearford Announces Product Status 2016

Canada NewsWire

OTTAWA, Feb. 2, 2016 /CNW/ - Clearford Water Systems Inc. ("Clearford" or the "Company"), (TSXV: CLI), today announced its product status entering 2016. Clearford One™ was announced in February 2015, and the first installation of the system in Ontario commenced service in January 2016, servicing the Fetherston community in the Municipality of North Grenville.

Clearford One™ provides a generational advance in sanitary sewage collection and treatment. Clearford One™ is the integration of Clearford's proprietary solids collection and digestion, ClearDigest™, SBS™ conveyance, ClearConvey™, best available final treatment, ClearRecover™, and UV Purification of effluent with Crossfire® technology from UV Pure Technologies Inc., a Clearford subsidiary.

Clearford One™ delivered in Ontario, Canada, is approximately 50% lower in capital cost and 50% lower in life-cycle cost than conventional sewage collection and treatment systems. A community served by Clearford One™ requires no minimum water flow for operation of the sewage system. Water sufficient to exit the sewage from the residence is sufficient for performance of the collection and treatment system. ClearDigest™ absorbs peak flows and ClearConvey™ allows no infiltration of groundwater or leakage of wastewater. ClearRecover™ cleans the flow of solids free wastewater for purification by Crossfire™ ultra violet technology.

In January 2015 Clearford introduced the Pay for Performance (P4P™) delivery model in Ontario. Using P4P™ the community makes no capital investment and makes a fixed annual payment only when the system performs over a contract of up to 30 years. The community can choose to take ownership of the system at any time during the contract term. At the end of this contract Clearford One™ will have a minimum of another 30 years of performance life remaining. The Fetherston system was delivered under the P4P™ model.

Low capital costs and low operating costs together with the P4P™ delivery model allow communities and property developers to choose the combination of capital investment and service charges that best suit the interests of the community.

ClearDigest™ and ClearConvey™ are the current generation of collection and conveyance systems that have operated with excellent performance in Ontario for more than 15 years. ClearRecover™ is the treatment plant selected from proven, most advanced systems produced by leading suppliers. Clearford One™ integrates these proven products to deliver superior performance for nearly half the capital and life cycle cost of conventional systems.

Neither the TSX Venture Exchange nor its Regulation Services Provider (as that term is defined in the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange) accepts responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
