Taxpayers Switch to Block for Half the Price Paid to Others Last Year

HRB

Half Price Is a Better Price for Taxpayers New to H&R Block

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwired - February 22, 2016) - Beginning today and until March 31, H&R Block (NYSE: HRB), the world's largest consumer tax services provider, will give taxpayers the opportunity to switch to Block and pay only half the price they paid last year to another tax preparer, subject to offer conditions.

"For the second consecutive season, we're inviting taxpayers to try us at half the price they paid someone else last year," said Kathy Collins, H&R Block's chief marketing officer. "We can show off our amazing tax professionals and their value while taxpayers get the best service and expertise in the industry at half the price. We're excited to invite more people to enjoy 'refund season' with us."

Expertise, maximum refund guarantee, support among reasons to switch to Block

H&R Block's tax professionals receive the most in-depth training in the industry and can help taxpayers better understand their taxes. For example, the Affordable Care Act has made taxes about health insurance coverage, too. H&R Block tax professionals can help taxpayers understand the ACA's requirements, reconcile their Advance Premium Tax Credit and assist eligible taxpayers in applying for a penalty exemption if they were uninsured. They also can help taxpayers understand how to avoid ballooning penalties for 2016.

And with thousands of offices open year-round, H&R Block clients have access to a tax professional before, on and after April 18.

"When taxpayers who went somewhere else last year experience H&R Block this year, they'll keep coming back for our industry-leading expertise, maximum refund guarantee and year-round support," said Collins.

How to switch to Block and pay half the cost

Taxpayers should bring their tax preparation receipts from last year to their local H&R Block office to receive the half-off discount. The offer includes the cost of individual and business, federal and state tax returns filed in 2015. Returns are subject to a $100 minimum price. Taxpayers can schedule an appointment with a tax professional online or by calling 1-800-HRBLOCK.
