PECO's New Natural Gas Mechanics Join Field Force

10 apprentice mechanics graduate from comprehensive training program

Today, PECO welcomed 10 new natural gas apprentice mechanics to the company’s field force, following the completion of a comprehensive seven-week training program to ensure safe, reliable, affordable and clean natural gas for customers.

PECO’s natural gas mechanic training program develops the fundamental skills new natural gas mechanics need to work safely on the company’s natural gas distribution system and provide reliable service to more than 508,000 customers. More than 500 people applied for this year’s program.

“The completion of this training program is an extraordinary accomplishment, and I extend my sincere congratulations to our graduates,” said Ron Bradley, vice president of Gas Operations. “Our field employees are essential to safely delivering reliable natural gas to meet the needs of our customers and communities. In addition to field maintenance and repair skills, the program focuses on natural gas fundamentals, quality customer interactions, emergency response, safety and first aid.
