QuickLogic's ArcticLink 3 S2 and SenseMe Algorithms Selected for Jaway Wearable Sports Watch

QUIK

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 25, 2016) - QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator of ultra-low power programmable sensor processing solutions, announced today that Shanghai Jaway Information Technology Ltd., a China-based Independent Design House (IDH), has chosen its ArcticLink® 3 S2 Sensor Hub and SenseMe™ Algorithms for its new Jaway wearable sports watch. QuickLogic's ArcticLink 3 S2 solution was selected for its ability to deliver advanced sensor processing at substantially lower power consumption than competing solutions, and its seamless integration with the MediaTek MT2601 applications processor running Android 5.0.

Shanghai Jaway Information Technology selected QuickLogic's SenseMe™ algorithms for their world class accuracy, low power consumption and to help shorten the product design cycle. In its sports watch, Jaway uses QuickLogic's advanced pedometer, raise and twist gesture, onBike context and altitude SenseMe algorithms.

QuickLogic's ArcticLink 3 S2 and SenseMe algorithm library includes advanced pedometer functions, which provide step counting for slow cadence, normal walking, and fast walking as well as running. Also included is a feature set that calculates the user's speed, distance traveled, and calories burned. The context determination algorithm detects when the user is in a car or on a bicycle and features fitness/wellness tracking capabilities. The altitude change algorithm allows wearables to sense when a user is moving to higher or lower ground, such as on stairs or hills.

"QuickLogic provides a complete solution, with advanced pedometer algorithms, that consistently delivers 97%+ accuracy," said Brian Faith, VP of worldwide marketing. "Our sophisticated algorithms, and the inherent flexibility of our silicon platforms, enable developers to quickly and easily bring compelling solutions to the market that enhance the end user experience."

"The flexibility and ultra-low-power consumption of QuickLogic's ArcticLink 3 S2 made it the ideal solution for our Jaway wearable sports watch," said Roy Wang, Founder and CEO at Jaway Information Technology. "When coupled with QuickLogic's design support tools and its highly advanced SenseMe algorithm library, we were able to move our state-of-the art design to market quickly and efficiently."
