QuickLogic Announces ArcticLink 3 S2 Wearable Production Win With Shenzhen Gomtel Technology

QUIK

ArcticLink 3 S2 Solution With SenseMe Algorithms Chosen for MoWatch Wearable

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 7, 2016) - QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator of ultra-low power programmable sensor processing solutions, announced today that it is shipping its ArcticLink® 3 S2 Sensor Hub and SenseMe™ Algorithms to Shenzhen Gomtel Technology for the company's MoWatch wearable device. Gomtel Technology, an Independent Design House (IDH) that specializes in mobile communications, wearable devices and IoT, has chosen the ArcticLink 3 S2 solution with SenseMe Algorithms for its low power consumption, ease of integration and advanced activity tracking and gesture algorithm support.

QuickLogic's ArcticLink 3 S2 and SenseMe algorithm library includes advanced activity tracking functions that can recognize and track a variety of user activities throughout the day. Advanced gesture algorithms minimize false positive reads while providing easy device activation when sensing natural gestures. The "raise hand" algorithm detects that the device has been lifted from waist level to a viewing level, and the "twist arm" algorithm senses that the wrist wearing the device is twisting (similar to the movement of checking the time on a watch face) allowing the device display to automatically turn on just when needed by the user. This optimizes the user experience while also minimizing power consumption.

"The combination of QuickLogic's ArcticLink 3 S2, SenseMe Algorithm Library and Integrated Design Environment (IDE) shortened our design cycle and provides world-class performance and maximizes battery life for our new MoWatch wearable," said Yu Tinghao, director of research and development at Gomtel Technology.
