Company Appoints Ray Leon as Advisor to the Board of Directors
Voip-Pal.com Inc. (“Voip-Pal”, “Company”) (OTC Pink: VPLM) is pleased to
announce allowance by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) of
application No. 14/802,872, the 2nd continuation for the
Company’s “Uninterrupted Transmission of Internet Protocol Transmissions
During Endpoint Changes” patent. The Uninterrupted Transmission parent
patent, US Patent No. 8,675,566 was issued March 18, 2014 and the
previous UT continuation was issued on October 6, 2015 as US Patent No.
9,154,417.
This most recent patent focuses on the original Uninterrupted
Transmission patent’s ability to maintain uninterrupted connectivity by
anticipating more complex connections. The demand for uninterrupted
connectivity provided by this patent continues to increase significantly
with the rise of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO). Typically,
MVNO’s provide calling and data services using multiple carriers and
Wi-Fi networks allowing calls to transfer from Wi-Fi connections to cell
phone networks seamlessly. Voip-Pal’s suite of patents provides the
necessary technology and systems for MVNO’s and telcos to offer their
subscribers uninterrupted transmission as well as other calling,
messaging and data services.
The Company also announced the appointment of Ray Leon as an Advisor to
the Board of Directors. Mr. Leon has an engineering degree from
Villanova University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a
former engineer for GE and IBM and has founded and or cofounded multiple
successful startup companies and has extensive big business mediation
and arbitration experience. Mr. Leon is taking the lead for Voip-Pal in
its discussions and negotiations with potential buyers and or licensees.
Voip-Pal CEO, Emil Malak said, ”We are very pleased to have Ray join our
team. His vast experience and expertise are helping us immensely in our
continued efforts to monetize our technology.”
Mr. Malak also commented on the recently filed lawsuits vs. Apple,
Verizon and AT&T: “Many have asked about the reasoning for delaying
service of the complaint to the defendants. As we stated in the Q&A
posted on our website www.voip-pal.com
last month, our desire is to reach a fair and amicable settlement with
the defendants. To that end we are currently reaching out to them during
this ninety-day window provided by the courts. If and when our attempt
at a resolution is unsuccessful we will serve legal notice prior to the
deadline.”
