Visualant’s pioneering threat identification technology poised to
help transform security and fight terrorism
Visualant, Inc. (OTCQB: VSUL) – an industry-leading provider of
chromatic-based identification, authentication and diagnostic solutions,
with its ChromaID™ technology, announced today that it has entered into
an agreement that provides Intellicheck Mobilisa (NYSE MKT: IDN)
exclusive rights to Visualant’s latest, patented photonics based
innovations for threat assessment and document verification in the areas
of homeland security, law enforcement and crime prevention.
Intellicheck already has their solutions in use in the US Department of
Defense, US law enforcement and Canadian province enhanced
identification systems. Intellicheck will now be able to enhance their
products with sophisticated photonic technology to further improve
threat identification worldwide.
While the human element remains critical to security measures, the
Visualant ChromaID technology can help detect dangerous substances and
counterfeit documents in a more proactive and precise manner.
Visualant’s ChromaID technology will allow Intellicheck to develop a new
line of threat identification products based on this pioneering
technology. The Company believes this new technology will provide a new
deterrent in halting domestic and international terrorism and illegal
operations due to its real-time, field based analysis capabilities. The
ChromaID technology can instantly detect a wide array of substances and
materials including explosives, gunpowder residue, illicit drugs, and
counterfeit documents including driver licenses and identity badges. The
threat identification and authentication marketplaces are large
multi-billion dollar industries.
Visualant CEO, President and Founder, Ron Erickson said, “We believe the
Visualant ChromaID technology can play an important role in threat
detection. New technologies can protect both our way of life and our
very lives. With each new terrorist attack the importance of new threat
detection technology grows in importance. Our continued work on ChromaID
opens the door for unprecedented new breakthroughs that could help
redefine the security paradigm. We are confident we can claim a portion
of these multi-billion dollar markets.”
Once commercialized, Intellicheck expects its new ChromaID-based
products will be game-changers for a wide variety of clients who would
benefit from this cutting-edge technology. "We believe this agreement
will allow us to take the steps necessary to deliver a generational leap
forward in threat identification by integrating ChromaID technology into
our threat identification solutions. We see significant, far-reaching
implications in addressing numerous high-priority domestic and
international security challenges across every spectrum," said Dr.
William Roof, CEO of Intellicheck.
