Intellicheck CEO Dr. William Roof Appointed To AAMVA's NMVTIS Law Enforcement Working Group

IDN

Intellicheck CEO Dr. William Roof has been appointed to serve as a technical advisor to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators' (AAMVA) NMVTIS Law Enforcement Working Group. NMVTIS, The National Motor Vehicle Title Information System, is an electronic system that assists local, state, and federal law enforcement in investigating and preventing vehicle-related crimes. It is designed to protect consumers from fraud and unsafe vehicles and to keep stolen vehicles from being resold. Several businesses and agencies are required to regularly report information to the NMVTIS including state motor vehicle titling agencies, insurance carriers, auto recyclers, and junk and salvage yards.

"This is a great opportunity to support law enforcement efforts related to vehicle crimes and the protection of consumers. I am honored to receive this appointment and I look forward to working with my colleagues in the working group to further our collective mission," said Dr. William Roof, CEO of Intellicheck.

The NMVTIS Law Enforcement Working Group was formed to identify business requirements regarding how law enforcement can use NMVTIS to access the information necessary to investigate vehicle-related crimes. The Working Group is also charged with addressing and resolving vehicle, title, registration, and brand business issues pertaining to NMVTIS and implementing strategies to increase NMVTIS usage within the law enforcement community. The working group is an integral part of the diverse initiatives led by AAMVA, which represents state and provincial officials in the United States and Canada who administer and enforce motor vehicle laws. AAMVA’s programs encourage uniformity and reciprocity among the states and provinces. The association also serves as a liaison with other levels of government and the private sector.
