Berkwood Resources Announces Lac Gueret South Graphite Project Analyses (Quebec) and Resignation of Director

V.GEM

(via Thenewswire.ca)

Vancouver, BC / TheNewswire / April 20 2016 - Berkwood Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: BKR) ("Berkwood" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received analytical results from grab samples taken from the Zone 1 and Zone 1 geophysical anomaly areas on the Lac Gueret South Graphite Project in Quebec. These large anomaly areas are almost entirely hidden under muskeg and soil with only rare outcrops of bedrock sticking out of the muskeg in their vicinities. A total of 11 rock grab samples were collected in the vicinity of the Zone 1 anomaly and returned analyses averaging 4.99% Cgr (Carbon as Graphite) within a range of 0.04% Cgr to 36.3% Cgr. Only one bedrock sample was found and collected in the vicinity of the Zone 2 anomaly which returned an analysis of 0.49% Cgr.

The presence of significant values of Carbon as Graphite found in the vicinity of these mainly hidden large geophysical anomalies is interpreted to indicate that the anomalies are probably large graphite zones. Further exploration in the form of trenching and drilling is planned, subject to financing, for the Lac Gueret South Graphite Project on the Zones 1 and 2 anomalies in order to evaluate the size, continuity, quantity and quality of the graphite mineralization.

The rock grab samples were collected during the geophysics survey which defined the Zone 1 and Zone 2 anomalies on the ground (see Berkwood news release dated January 12, 2016 for details). Zone 1 is characterized by two individual electromagnetic anomaly limbs over a two kilometer length and 50 meters to 600 meters width as defined by earlier airborne geophysics (see Berkwood news release dated February 10, 2015). The western part of this zone was better delineated with four VLF-EM and 22 PhiSpy ground geophysical anomalies over an apparent 800 meters length and up to a 300 meters width. This western area is interpreted as a potential bulk graphite zone interlayered within the hinge of a complex fold. The limbs thin to 50 meters in width further to the east.

Zone 2 lies immediately south of the Mason Graphite claim boundary and along strike from the graphite zones of Mason Graphite, which are being readied for production (see below for details). A total of two VLF-EM and 15 PhiSpy ground geophysical anomalies confirm the occurrence of two parallel east-west anomaly limbs with the main anomaly limb measuring one kilometer in length and 60 meters in width.

Resignation of Director

Berkwood announces that Brian Hall has resigned from the Board of Directors. The Company thanks Mr. Hall for his years of service and wishes him good fortune in his future pursuits. Berkwood is now searching for a suitable replacement who can help the Company in its search for new business ventures.

About Berkwood

Berkwood has an option to earn a 100%-interest in the 5,788 ha Lac Gueret South Graphite Property, which borders the southern boundary of Mason Graphite's Lac Gueret Graphite Project. A NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate for Mason Graphite's Lac Gueret property indicates a measured & indicated mineral resource of 65.7 million tonnes grading 17.2% Cgr (Carbon as Graphite), which includes a higher grade resource of 9.7 million tonnes grading 31.2% Cgr*. Berkwood's rational for exploring its Lac Gueret South Graphite Project is to find similar graphite mineralization to that of Mason Graphite.
