THE COLONY, TX --(Marketwired - May 10, 2016) - Quest Resource Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: QRHC) ("Quest") announced today
that it has helped Granite Properties, a commercial real estate investment and management company with over 20 million square feet
of commercial real estate, in achieving LEED recertification for Granite Park One in Plano, Texas. It is Quest's 65th LEED certification.
Quest helped the 264,000 square feet Class A property achieve LEED silver recertification under LEED for Existing Buildings:
Operations & Maintenance v3. "LEED continues to be the most widely recognized and used green building program across the country,"
said Quest Chief Executive Officer, Ray Hatch. "We are pleased to be a part of the Granite Team in helping them achieve their
latest LEED recertification."
The LEED project team, comprised of both Granite and Quest, implemented various green building strategies resulting in project
highlights such as;
- WATER PERFORMANCE - Granite uses low-flow water fixtures throughout the building resulting in a 20% reduction in indoor water
consumption. The 20% water use reduction is in addition to the over 20% water reduction accomplished in the initial
certification.
- ENERGY PERFORMANCE - The building achieved a prestigious Energy Star rating of 96, which means it is in the top 5% of the
most efficient buildings in the country. Greenhouse gas emissions were drastically reduced. In addition to the aggressive energy
efficiency improvement programs for the site, Granite Park I chose to offset 25% of electricity emissions by purchasing Renewable
Energy Credits. Main lighting fixtures were upgraded to the most efficient T8, 28 watt super-efficient lamps. Air handling units
were upgraded to allow for airflow optimization.
- WASTE MANAGEMENT - Since the building opened, a solid waste management program has been in place with annual goals to
increase waste diversion for ongoing consumables and durable goods. During the performance period, tenants diverted over 57%
(156,405 lbs.) of waste and recycled 100% of all durable goods and electronics.
- INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY - Each project now implements a wide range of green cleaning and integrated pest management
practices resulting in improved air quality for building occupants and guests. All Air Handler Units are operated and maintained
using the strictest requirements of ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2007, Ventilation for Acceptable Air Quality.
