“Nurses are on the front lines as the first point of contact with patients and their families, offering a special combination of medical expertise and care and compassion. I’ve been able to witness the tremendous effect that nurses have on patients and communities first-hand as the daughter of a nurse and as a mother,” said Kristen Bell. “I’m proud of my mom for choosing a career in nursing and thrilled to be partnering with Johnson & Johnson to support nurses. Nursing allows you many fields and avenues to work in.“

Kristen Bell is joining Johnson & Johnson to raise awareness of the incredible value of nurses around National Nurses Week, and issue an important call to action that asks everyone to support The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association, a professional organization that is critical to the future of nursing by helping to fund its operation through a variety of philanthropic efforts. People can download the Johnson & Johnson Donate a Photo app and for every photo shared through the app throughout the entire month of May, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to support nursing student scholarships through The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association.

“The United States has been experiencing the most profound shortage of nurses in the country’s history. By 2025, it is predicted that there will still be a shortage of over half a million nurses, as new demands are put on the healthcare system with the aging population,“ said Michael Sneed, Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs Johnson & Johnson. “Since launching the Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future, more than 750,000 new nurses joined the field, but there’s more to be done, and the collaboration of industry leaders like Johnson & Johnson, healthcare professionals, education leaders and government officials is critically important.”
