MXGP Motocross World Championship Rider Gautier Paulin Joins Leatt Family

LEAT

After Being Injured in a Crash, Gautier Paulin Realizes the Importance of Good Protection Gear

PR Newswire

CAPE TOWN, South Africa, May 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leatt Corporation (OTCQB: LEAT), a global developer, marketer and distributor of personal protective equipment for all forms of sports, and whose products include the flagship Leatt-Brace®, announced today that French MXGP Motocross World Championship rider, Gautier Paulin, has joined the Leatt family of athletes.

Paulin is an indomitable motocross athlete who began BMX racing at an early age, and had won his first championship by age 10.  At the age of 13, Paulin exchanged his BMX bike for a motorcycle. He was a member of the victorious French 2014 and 2015 Motocross des Nations team and currently rides in the premier MXGP class for the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) factory racing team.

"Leatt is proud to have Gautier on board and part of our family of athletes and we look forward to the successful re-launch of his racing career this season after his serious accident earlier this year," said CEO Sean Macdonald.

Paulin crashed and sustained a fractured vertebrate and a broken rib while practicing at Lommel, Belgium in March.  But Paulin views the crash as a wake-up call to take better care of himself while riding. "During my recovery period, I thought a lot about my crash, my life, and about how much more serious the outcome could have been. I resolved then that I would take steps to minimize these risks whenever possible, for myself, as well as for other riders," said Paulin.

As evidence of this commitment Paulin has chosen to wear a Leatt GPX 6.5 Neck Brace for protection.  The Leatt GPX 6.5 Neck Brace is a system designed to help prevent potentially devastating injuries to the cervical spine (neck) for helmeted sports.

Paulin said, "Leatt was my first choice because it is the pioneer of the neck brace and is well-known for putting 'safety first.'  I am happy to be back on the bike wearing my surprisingly comfortable and light Leatt® neck brace and being part of the Leatt family."
