Methode Electronics - Active Energy Solutions Recognized as One of the 20 Most Promising Data Center Solution Providers of 2016 by CIOReview Magazine

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Jun 7, 2016) - Active Energy Solutions, a business division of Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI), a global developer of custom-engineered and application-specific products, today announced it has received notable recognition as one of the "20 Most Promising Data Center Solution Providers" of 2016 by CIOReview magazine.

To compile the annual list, honorary industrial experts and editors worked together to identify appropriate candidates, which were then selected from a pool of online applicants.

Active Energy Solutions' expertise in lithium-ion UPS design and production stems from a successful history of automotive grade Lithium-ion Battery Pack and BMS delivery. Lithium-ion batteries offer several improvements over lead acid including reduced capacity degradation, high cycle life and fast recharge time. The AC6000 Lithium-ion UPS offers a smaller footprint, highest energy density in the industry and longer battery life for mission critical power protection. Its patent pending "peak shave" technology also lowers a data center's total cost of ownership.

"Active Energy Solutions was chosen because of their demonstrated commitment to power management systems in the data center along with their strong credibility and history in the electronics industry," said Jeevan George, managing editor of CIOReview. "I congratulate them and look forward to their continued success."

"We're very excited to be honored and recognized in this category from such a distinguished publication like CIOReview," said Emilie Stone, general manager, Methode Active Energy Solutions. "With the advent of lithium-ion UPS technology, data center customers worldwide are realizing they can move away from traditional lead acid and trade up to a UPS that delivers lower energy usage and longer battery life."
