HONG KONG, June 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chinese Football Association Amateur League, hosted by the Chinese Football Association, kicked off its provincial
games earlier this month. The Shenzhen Baoxin Football Club, a
joint-venture football team of Shenzhen Baoxin Sport Industry Limited ("Shenzhen Baoxin"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of New
Sports Group Limited ("New Sports" or the "Group") (Hong Kong stock code: 0299), has won a grand victory of 13-0 against the
Shenzhen Huhun Football Team in the first round of provincial group games on 10 June in the Shenzhen Meilin Reservoir Football
Field, representing a good start on its path towards the regional games and the finals this
year.
The Chinese Football Association Amateur League represents the highest level of China's
amateur football teams. Winners of the League's provincial games hosted by local football associations are qualified to compete
in the regional games, which will be staged in four regions of the country, namely the North-east, the North-west, the South-east
(which Shenzhen belongs to) and the South-west parts of China. The top 4 teams from each
regional game will enter the final, and the national finalists with good rankings may be promoted to China League Two (CL2).
The Shenzhen Baoxin Football Club is competing with 13 other teams in the 30th Shenzhen
Amateur League One 2016, the provincial games organised by the Football Association of Shenzhen,
which kicked off a few days ago. The football players of Shenzhen Baoxin have, on
average, received around 10 years of professional training in football. They represented the
Pingzhian Football Club to take part in several matches at a
level equivalent to China League Three and achieved a satisfactory record of eight wins and one loss. They also defeated the Renren
Football Club from China League Two this April. The players continued to perform well in the
first round of the provincial games, winning a 13-0 against Huhun. The team showed professional rather than amateur level,
demonstrating their ability to enter CL2 this year. The team
is now preparing for a new round of group matches and the finals, aiming at the regional games in October and the final in
November while paving the way for CL2.
The estimated market value of the world's football industry is US$500 billion and the Chinese
government has recently released The Mid-and Long-Term Development Plan for Chinese Soccer for the coming 35 years.
Mr. Zhang Xiaodong, chairman of New Sports, said: "The Chinese government intends to promote the
popularisation of football and to nurture world-class football teams, and football industry in China has great potential for profit growth. The Group therefore plans to continue its efforts in developing
football-related business. The first victory of the Baoxin Football Club is an exemplification of the path towards success of the
Group's sports-related business. Also, the Group has established a three-year development strategy for the joint-venture
football club with the final goal of entering the Chinese Football Association Super League by 2018."
Mr. Zhang added: "Kingworld (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., under the Group, holds an exclusive license to develop and operate the official wireless platform and mobile application
for the Chinese Football Association Super League. In coordination with the development of
football clubs and the football industry, New Sports will implement new initiatives to create larger and better sports
interaction space for football fans."
