The following are the M&A deals, rumors and chatter circulating on Wall Street for Tuesday July 12, 2016:

Hearing Oracle Near Deal to Acquire NetSuite

The Rumor:
Shares of NetSuite (NYSE: N) surged higher Tuesday, on unconfirmed market chatter of a potential takeover by Oracle (NYSE: ORCL), according to sources as reported by Proactive Investors. That follows a Benzinga report on Tuesday, mentioning unusual option activity in NetSuite. SunTrust stated in a note that a deal was unlikely due to limited synergies. Oracle declined comment, while NetSuite did not respond to a request for comment.

NetSuite closed at $85.13 on Tuesday, up 12.23%.

 

Helios & Matheson Analytics, Zone Technologies Enter Into Definitive Merger Agreement

The Deal:
Helios and Matheson Analytics, Inc. (NASDAQ: HMNY) and Zone Technologies, Inc. announced Tuesday, that they have signed a definitive agreement and plan of merger. Under the agreement, a newly-formed wholly owned subsidiary of HMNY will merge with and into Zone and each share of Zone common stock will be converted into the right to receive 0.174 shares of common stock of HMNY, for an aggregate of 1,740,000 shares of HMNY common stock.

Helios & Matheson closed at $4.29 on Tuesday, up 10.48%.

 

AMC Theatres Acquires Odeon & UCI Cinimas For ~$1.2B The Deal:
AMC Theatres (NYSE: AMC) announced Tuesday, that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Odeon & UCI Cinemas Group from private equity firm Terra Firma in a deal valued at approximately £921 million including £500 million for the equity and the assumption of £407 million of net debt as of March 31, 2016. 75% of the equity is to be paid in cash and 25% in stock consideration, subject to lock-ups. The transaction is expected to be completed in Q4 of 2016.

AMC closed Tuesday at $29.80, up 7.31%.
