BlackBerry Opts To Provide Secure Apps Through Microsoft's Azure Cloud Platform

MSFT, T.BB

BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ: BBRY) disclosed that it would offer more of its secure enterprise mobility solutions to the open, flexible, enterprise-grade cloud computing platform, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT)'s Microsoft Azure. As a result, enterprises could select to install, as well as deploy the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform with the help of Microsoft Azure to organize a wide range of business apps. That included collaborations apps, custom-developed apps and ISV apps.

BlackBerry said that enterprises could now opt to install, as well as deploy the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform by it through Microsoft Azure to mobilize a wide range of business apps. This included collaboration apps, ISV apps and custom-developed apps.

The Canadian firm said that with Good Dynamics in Microsoft Azure, the number of businesses growing in emerging enterprise cloud environments could leverage improved security to ensure critical business data is never put at risk.

Microsoft's Corporate VP, Developer Experience and Evangelism and Chief Evangelist, Steve Guggenheimer said, "With BlackBerry's Good Dynamics now on the Microsoft Azure platform, we continue to help protect customers' data and enhance our ecosystem of business-critical apps."

The firm said enterprises were installing and managing their BES12 deployment with the help of Microsoft Azure platform since March. This meant that customers could have complete access to their BES12 licenses and also benefit from the Microsoft cloud architecture. That also meant that there was no need to invest in their own IT infrastructure.

The company stated that Good Dynamics was also tightly integrated with BES12 for secure holistic end-to-end capabilities.
