Virgin America Inc. (NASDAQ: VA) indicated
Tuesday that the merger deal with Alaska Air Group, Inc. (NYSE: ALK), Alaska Airlines, Inc's parent firm, was approved by a majority of the
shareholders through an affirmative vote.
Virgin America said a report reflecting the complete voting results would be made available on a Current Report on Form 8-K,
which would be filed later this week with the SEC.
On April 4, the companies revealed they struck a deal to merge to create the premier airline for West Coast travelers. The
airlines expect that they would get regulatory approvals and complete the transaction in the fourth quarter of the current
year.
