Thunder Energies Corporation's Chief Scientist Delivers Invited Keynote Talk on the Use of a Neutron Flux to Detect Smuggling of Nuclear Material

TNRG

TARPON SPRINGS, FL / ACCESSWIRE / AUGUST 11, 2016 / Thunder Energies Corporation (TNRG). Dr. Ruggero M. Santilli, Chief Scientists of Thunder Energies Corporation, has delivered an invited keynote talk at an international congress held at the University of La Rochelle, France, on July 4 to 8, 2016. The talk dealt with mathematical, theoretical and experimental works on the use of Thunder Energies neutron flux to detect possible smuggling of fissionable nuclear materials in containers and suitcases for assembly and detonation on our soil (http://www.santilli-foundation.org/santilli-larochelle-award.php).

Dr. Santilli states: "Our biggest danger is that terrorists may smuggle components of a nuclear bomb in containers and suitcases for terrorist acts. Homeland Security has justly invested large funds for the detection of smuggled nuclear material via X-rays and other conventional means without achieving, according to available information, operational result. According to our studies, the most effective process for the needed detection is to irradiate container and suitcases with a flux of low energy neutrons. In this case, components of a nuclear bomb, known as fissionable materials, emit more neutrons than those absorbed, thus allowing their detection via sensitive neutron detectors" (international patent pending owned by Thunder Energies Corporation), http://www.thunder-energies.com/index.php/ct-menu-item-18/11-articles/19-article-10.

Dr. Santilli continues, "We did overcome the problem, resulting in a cutting edge new technology of national security significance, in that neutrons are conventionally produced by large particle accelerators of impractical use in ports or airports. Following extensive mathematical, theoretical and experimental research, we have developed small size equipment, capable of producing a low energy neutron flux from a hydrogen gas, suitable for the construction of Fissionable Material Testing Stations in various sizes under suitable funding, as well as academic, industrial, and governmental support."
