The Shoe Nike Fans Have Been Waiting 27 Years For Will Arrive This Holiday Season

NKE

"Back To The Future's" prediction on self-tying Nike Inc (NYSE: NKE) shoes wasn't too far off.

Nike has announced it's finally bringing self-tying shoes to the market, with its HyperAdapt 1.0 model releasing just in time for the holidays on November 28.

Nike recently produced a limited edition for Michael J. Fox to create buzz for the new technology. The shoes will be released in limited quantity and you must set up an appointment at select retail locations to secure a pair.

With its Zemeckian technology (an ode to the film's director), the shoes tighten or loosen with the press of a button.

Nike stock traded nearly flat on Wednesday at $55.35.
