Stocks Hitting 52-Week Lows

  • Pain Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTIE) shares fell 54.2 percent to touch a new 52-week low of $1.25 after the company reported that it has received a complete response letter from the FDA. The FDA determined that REMOXY cannot be approved.
  • MannKind Corporation (NASDAQ: MNKD) shares touched a new 52-week low of $0.580. MannKind shares have dipped 80.11 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has increased 15.03 percent in the same period.
  • Deutsche Bank AG (USA) (NYSE: DB) shares reached a new 52-week low of $12.01. According to Bloomberg, Deutsche Bank could be forced to raise capital to help finance a $14 billion fee given by the U.S. Justice Department to settle a probe tied to the bank's residential mortgage-backed securities practices prior to the financial crisis. Specifically, the German bank allegedly misled investors over the quality of subprime mortgage bonds it created and sold prior to the 2008 financial crisis.
  • Kroger Co (NYSE: KR) shares touched a new 52-week low of $30.20. Kroger shares have tumbled 14.83 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 15.03 percent in the same period.
