Worst Performing Industries For October 3, 2016

The Dow fell 0.31 percent to 18,251.42, while the NASDAQ composite index slipped 0.17 percent to 5,302.82. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index declined 0.27 percent to 2,162.32.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Technical Services: This industry slipped 1.8 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was KBR, Inc. (NYSE: KBR), which fell 12 percent. KBR’s PEG ratio is -2.64.
  • Home Health Care: This industry declined 1.4 percent by 11:00 am with Surgical Care Affiliates Inc (NASDAQ: SCAI) moving down 2.2 percent. Surgical Care Affiliates shares have surged 50.03 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 9.12 percent in the same period.
  • Networking & Communication Devices: This industry fell 1.2 percent by 11:00 am ET. Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) shares dropped 1.3 percent in today's trading. Super Micro Computer shares have dropped 18.88 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 9.12 percent in the same period.
  • Specialized Health Services: The industry dropped 1.1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Hooper Holmes, Inc. (NYSE: HH), which declined 7 percent.
