Chimera Investment Corporation Prices Public Offering of 8.0% Series A Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock

Chimera Investment Corporation (NYSE:CIM) (the “Company”) today announced the pricing of its underwritten public offering of 5,400,000 shares of its 8.0% Series A Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock (the “Series A Preferred Stock”), liquidation preference $25.00 per share, for gross proceeds of approximately $135 million, before deducting the underwriting discount and other estimated offering expenses. The Company intends to apply to list the Series A Preferred Stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “CIM PRA.” The offering is expected to close on October 14, 2016, subject to customary closing conditions.

The Company has granted the underwriters an option for 30 days to purchase up to an additional 810,000 shares of the Series A Preferred Stock to cover over-allotments, if any.

The Company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering to acquire residential mortgage loans and other targeted assets and for general corporate purposes, including, without limitation, to pay down liabilities and other working capital items.

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, UBS Securities LLC, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc. and RBC Capital Markets, LLC are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering.
