DAT Solutions Combines DAT, Getloaded Load Boards into One Network

ROP

Affirms industry position as the predominant network for spot truckload freight

PR Newswire

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DAT Solutions today announced that Getloaded, a leading load board for smaller freight brokers and carriers, will be integrated into the DAT Network of load boards to create the industry's largest and most diverse electronic marketplace for spot truckload freight.

DAT operates the largest spot freight marketplace in North America. Transportation brokers, carriers, news organizations and industry analysts rely on DAT for market trends and data insights derived from 100M annual freight matches and a database of $28B of market transactions. Founded in 1978, DAT Solutions, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Roper Technologies, a diversified technology company and constituent of the S&P 500, Fortune 1000 and Russell 1000 indices. www.DAT.com (PRNewsFoto/DAT Solutions)

The combination joins the industry's leading load boards into a single premier network for van, refrigerated, flatbed, and specialty freight and capacity. Getloaded and DAT – which includes DAT Power, DAT Express, DAT TruckersEdge and OOIDA's MembersEdge – are both owned by the same company, and have been operating with independent databases operated by DAT.

Getloaded's carrier customers will have access to four times as many loads per day, while broker customers will be able to find carrier partners by searching the more than 17 million available trucks posted annually to the DAT Network.

"On the spot market, carriers want to choose from as much freight as possible, and brokers want to connect with as many quality trucks that can deliver freight on a lane," commented Don Thornton, Senior Vice President at DAT. "In this case, bigger really is better."

DAT will migrate DAT and Getloaded customers to the combined database by year end.

"Since 1999, Getloaded has built its reputation as a marketplace for smaller brokers and carriers, especially those involved in moving flatbed and specialty freight," Thornton said. "We're excited to offer more choices and services to Getloaded customers and to allow all customers to post their loads and trucks in one efficient super-database."

The move is the latest in a series of expansions at DAT. In August, the company relocated to a 55,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Portland. It also grew its technical and engineering staff, while expanding its Data Science department to address the needs of a changing industry. That growth further expands DAT's role as a leader in trucking and transportation.

Brokers, carriers, and shippers posted more than 100 million loads and trucks on DAT and Getloaded load boards in 2015. More than 59 million loads were posted on DAT load boards first or nowhere else.
