Taser's Axon Flex 2 Camera Should Start Shipping By Year-End

TASER International, Inc. (NASDAQ: TASR) indicated that it would start shipping its Flex 2 Camera in December, and the full production is expected in the first quarter of next year. The company also revealed that it would release the virtual reality video at the International Association of Chief's of Police Conference in San Diego.

The company disclosed that law enforcement agencies could access its VR and experience it with the help of Axon Insider mobile app. It would offer a unique 360-degree view on the network devices, as well as, apps "allowing them to go with confidence from the field to the courtroom."

In the same conference, TASER would be exhibiting its Axeon Flex 2 camera, which is a successor to Axon Flex body-worn camera. The new device would have compelling enhancements compared to its predecessor.

The company listed following key features:

  • Flex 2 boosts retention strength by more than 300 percent and maintains flexibility for easy repositioning between mounts.
  • Focus on a solid one-piece design with weather and shock resistant.
  • Wider perspective of field of view ranging between 75 and 120 degrees.
  • Video resolution offered between 480p and 1080p.
  • Axon signal enables automatic activation of camera.
  • Flex 2 uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to maximize wireless communications.
  • Pre-even buffer ranging between 0 and 120 seconds that can be configured in 30-second increments.

TASER co-founder and CEO, Rick Smith, commented, "When it came time to innovate a new device, our guiding principle was a desire to continue improving the reliability and performance of this mission critical equipment.
