Chemtrade announces expiration of HSR waiting period for its offer for Canexus Corporation

TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2016 /CNW/ - Chemtrade Logistics Income Fund (TSX: CHE.UN) ("Chemtrade" or the "Fund") announced today that the waiting period has expired under the United States Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended ("HSR"), in respect to its proposed acquisition of Canexus Corporation (TSX:CUS) ("Canexus") through an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of the Fund (the "Offeror").

As previously announced, the Offeror has commenced a takeover bid (the "Offer") to acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares (the "Common Shares") of Canexus for $1.50 in cash per Common Share. The expiration of the HSR waiting period satisfies an important condition of the Offer.

The Offer will remain open until 5:00 p.m. (Calgary time) on January 18, 2017 unless extended, accelerated or withdrawn by Chemtrade in accordance with the terms of the Offer. Please visit www.CanexusOffer.com for further information.
