U.S. October sales. Here is what Ford reported
a month ago in its U.S. September sales report.
Ford's release was
delayed until Wednesday due to a fire at its headquarters.
- Total U.S. sales for October fell 12 percent from a year ago to 188,813 vehicles.
- Retail sales for October fell 7 percent to 143,145 vehicles.
- Fleet sales including daily rental, commercial and government segments, fell 24 percent to 45,668 vehicles.
- As a whole, total average transaction prices rose $1,600 from a year ago versus the industry average of $600.
- Incentive spending rose $180 compared to a year ago versus the industry's average increase of $390.
- Ford branded sales as a whole fell to 12.5 percent to 179,744 units.
- Lincoln branded sales as a whole rose 7 percent to 9,069 units.
- Sales of F-Series pickup trucks rose 0.1 percent to 65,542, marking the best October performance since 2004.
- High-end series Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum pickups represented 75 percent of total retail truck sales.
