WESTPORT, CT--(Marketwired - Nov 16, 2016) - SAP SuccessFactors President Mike Ettling tells Bill Kutik that the enduring
connection between HCM and financial software systems is the key to running any business.
Ettling's comments come on the current edition of "Firing Line
with Bill Kutik®" which begins on YouTube today. Watch the new episode at http://bit.ly/KutikFiringLine.
Ettling tells Kutik: "If you think of business, forget all the MBA textbooks, forget all the books which have been written on
business and management. There are really only two levers or two stick shifts you can pull. One is people; the other is
money."
"[Coordinating them is] like driving a stick shift car," Ettling says. "Any CEO, any leader, has to be very cognizant of how
to pull those levers to get the results."
Ettling also takes a strong stance on the controversial topic of performance management, saying that it needs to be a
high-quality, continuous conversation, rather than a once-a-year appraisal.
Finally he comes down firmly on the side of work/life blend, after Kutik points out that Ettling himself took chunks of time
for paternity leave after the recent birth of his daughter.
Commenting on the interview, Bill Kutik, host and managing editor of "Firing Line
with Bill Kutik®" says: "Management and personal insights from top executives like Mike Ettling are just two
aspects of the value 'Firing Line' delivers to its audience with each program as we explore HR and the technology enabling
it."
The monthly "Firing Line" series has received nearly 58,000 views on YouTube since its debut last year. SAP (NYSE: SAP)
is the inaugural sponsor of "Firing Line
with Bill Kutik®." Other sponsors of the program, now finishing its second season, include ADP and Infor.
