New York Metro Superlawyer, Lynda J. Grant, Investigates Synutra Transaction For Potential Breaches of Fiduciary Duty

Lynda J. Grant, an attorney with over 30 years of experience representing wronged shareholders and consumers and a New York Metro Superlawyer, announces that TheGrantLawFirm, PLLC is investigating the acquisition of Synutra International, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYUT) (“Synutra” or the “Company”) by its controlling shareholder for $6.05 per share.

On November 17, 2016, Synutra entered into an Agreement and Plan of Merger (the “Merger”, “Merger Agreement”) with Beams Power Investment Limited (“Beams”), an entity that currently holds 63.5% of the Company’s outstanding shares. Beam’s sole shareholder is the wife of the Synutra’s chairman and chief executive officer, Liang Zhang. Beam is presently purchasing the remainder of the shares it does not already own. In the past 15 months, the Company has traded at prices greater than the offering price. The Company, which produces and markets baby food in China, is set to take advantage of China’s recent policy increasing the number of children allowed to couples.

TheGrantLawFirm is presently investigating whether the Merger is fair to the Company’s shareholders in light of the potential conflicts of interest. If you are a shareholder of Synutra and would like additional information regarding this matter, please contact Lynda J. Grant at 212-292-4441 or lgrant@grantfirm.com.
