FCA and CNH Industrial 2016 Bursary Scheme awards sons and daughters of UK employees

LONDON, Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) joined with sister company CNH Industrial to award 17 bursaries to sons and daughters of employees to assist with their academic careers. This year's awards ceremony took place at the Italian Embassy in central London on Friday 2 December. Sir Christopher Frayling, a British educationalist and writer, known for his study of popular culture, was the guest speaker at the event.

The talented group, all of whom are graduate students, are studying a range of subjects from Economics to Agriculture, Mathematics, International Business with Marketing, Nursing, History, Biomedical Science and Architecture. Their parents are employed in locations across the United Kingdom for FCA and CNH Industrial.

The winners were selected by a six-strong panel consisting of academic and fine arts professionals along with representatives from FCA and CNH Industrial. The 2016 panel included Martin McLaughlin, the Agnelli-Serena Professor of Italian Studies at Oxford University; Pauline Thomas, a former head teacher and MA in Educational Management; and Deyan Sudjic, Director of the Design Museum in London.

The UK Bursary Committee administers the awards on behalf of FCA N.V. and CNH Industrial N.V. The programme has been active since 1996 and is open to students in a number of countries where the companies operate, including: the U.K., Italy, Poland, Brazil, the U.S. and China. In 2015, grants and scholarships were awarded for an approximate total value of €1.5m.
