PTC Selected as Industrial Internet of Things Company of the Year
PTC Recognized for Its Success in Helping Industrial Companies Harness the Value of the Internet of
Things
PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) today announced it has been named “Industrial Internet of Things Company of the Year” by IoT
Breakthrough, an independent organization dedicated to helping the best Internet of Things (IoT) products and companies stand out
in the industry. PTC also received the IoT Breakthrough award for “Industrial IoT Solution of the Year” for its Kepware®
KEPServerEX® industrial connectivity software.
“PTC is dedicated to providing the IoT platform of choice for companies building solutions for the industrial space, from custom
applications that monitor a group of existing assets to remote service offerings that lower the cost of traditional maintenance,”
said Kevin O’Brien, vice president of IoT partner sales, PTC. “These awards are yet another validation of our efforts, and we
remain committed to helping companies achieve new business value through IoT solutions.”
The “Industrial Internet of Things Company of the Year” award comes at the end of a breakthrough year for PTC in the IoT space.
In 2016, PTC succeeded in adding a substantial number of new customers and partners to its IoT ecosystem, improved integration of
industrial connectivity and machine learning technology into the ThingWorx® platform, launched a new augmented reality
(AR) user experience capability, and improved the overall functionality of its ThingWorx IoT platform while earning recognition
from numerous external industry sources.
The “Industrial IoT Solution of the Year” award also recognizes PTC’s Kepware KEPServerEX industrial connectivity software.
KEPServerEX is one of the leading solutions for connecting, managing, monitoring, and controlling diverse automation devices and
software applications that enable the industrial IoT.
With over 2,000 nominations this year, the IoT Breakthrough Awards is an international program dedicated to recognizing the best
IoT products and companies in the industry. IoT Breakthrough Award nominations were judged by an independent panel of experts
representing a cross section of the industry, including journalists, analysts, and technology executives. Winning products and
companies were selected based on a variety of criteria, including most creative and technologically advanced products and services,
with the ultimate goal of recognizing “breakthrough” connected technologies and companies.
“We are excited to recognize companies such as PTC that are playing such a substantial role in advancing the IoT industry,” said
James Johnson, managing director, IoT Breakthrough. “The Industrial Internet of Things Company of the Year award category featured
nominations from the top IoT vendors in the industry, and we acknowledge and congratulate PTC for breaking through to achieve this
recognition and continue its leadership position.”
