Just as rival Charles Schwab Corp (NYSE: SCHW) did this week, brokerage firm E*TRADE Financial Corp (NASDAQ: ETFC) increased its menu of exchange-traded funds offered on a
commission-free basis.
Thirty-six (36) ETFs are joining E*Trade's commission-free lineup, including 16 from Guggenheim, 11 from John Hancock and nine
from IndexIQ.
New Additions
Schwab said Wednesday it is adding 12 exchange-traded funds to its Schwab ETF OneSource Platform, the largest commission-free
platform in the ETF industry. Those new
additions on the Schwab platform include Oppenheimer ETFs.
Oppenheimer joins ALPS, Deutsche Asset Management, Direxion, ETF Securities, Global X Funds, Guggenheim Investments, IndexIQ,
John Hancock Investments, JPMorgan Asset Management, PIMCO, PowerShares, State Street SPDR ETFs, USCF, WisdomTree and Charles
Schwab Investment Management on the OneSource platform.
As for E*Trade's commission-free ETF slate, new members include the popular Guggenheim S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF
(NYSE: RSP) along with 13
other equal-weight ETFs from Guggenheim. The other Guggenheim ETFs joining the E*Trade commission-free lineup are the
Guggenheim Total Return Bond ETF (NYSE: GTO) and the Guggenheim S&P High Income Infrastructure ETF (NASDAQ:
GHII).
The Hancock ETFs joining the E*Trade commission-free stable include the John Hancock Multifactor Large Cap ETF (NYSE:
JHML) and the firm's lineup of nine smart beta sector
ETFs.
Other issuers on E*Trade's commission-free ETF platform include Global X and WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (NASDAQ:
WETF). E*Trade now offers 122 ETFs
on a commission-free basis.
