Funds raised in branches, a donation of $15,000 and support measures for clients

MONTREAL, Jan. 31, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - National Bank will be collecting donations from the public at branches across Canada from January 31 to February 28, 2017. All funds collected through National Bank branches will be remitted to the Red Cross and used to provide immediate assistance to the victims.

This initiative is further to Saturday's announcement that National Bank will donate $15,000 to the Centre de Bénévolat de la Péninsule Acadienne.

A number of support measures are already in place to address the specific needs of each client, including:

  • Deferred payments on personal loans
  • Deferred payments of principal and interest on personal mortgage loans
  • Personalized, case-by-case agreements for affected business clients

Clients impacted by the storm are encouraged to contact their branch or business centre.

Quote

"National Bank has had a presence on the Acadian Peninsula for more than 100 years. Our hearts are with the individuals and families affected by the storm, many of whom are clients and employees of the Bank," said Réjean Després, Vice-President – Personal and Commercial Banking, Atlantic Canada. "It's natural for us to offer them our assistance and support."
