Industry peers recognize RBC as the best Canadian private bank for 10th consecutive year

TORONTO, Feb. 6, 2017 /CNW/ - For an outstanding 10th consecutive year, Royal Bank of Canada (RY on TSX and NYSE) captured top honours for private banking services in Canada in the 2017 Euromoney Private Banking and Wealth Management Survey. In addition to this achievement, RBC received 14 first-place awards at the annual event.

"Receiving this recognition from our peers over the last 10 years is an honour," said Ann Bowman, Head, RBC Private Banking Canada. "While our business and the services we offer have evolved over the last decade, what remains constant is our employees' dedication to helping our clients thrive and achieve their financial goals."

RBC also won two awards recognizing its commitment to innovation, including "Innovative Technology-Client Experience" and "Innovative Technology-Back Office Systems", both for a second consecutive year.

"These award wins demonstrate RBC's ability to meet the evolving needs of our high net worth clients," said David Agnew, CEO, RBC Wealth Management Canada. "In collaboration with our partners from across RBC, our team of advisors, investment counsellors, estate and trust professionals, wealth planning specialists and global support teams deliver sophisticated and comprehensive wealth management services with an exceptional client focus."

RBC Wealth Management Canada also received several other awards, including "Net-Worth-Specific Services" for two asset categories, between US$5 million to US$30 million and US$1 million to US$5 million, as well as "SRI/Social Impact Investing", "Investment Banking Capabilities", "Commercial Banking Capabilities", and "Research and Asset Allocation Advice".

First published in 2004, the Euromoney Private Banking and Wealth Management Survey is regarded as one of the leading benchmarks for the global wealth management industry. Survey results are based primarily on a peer ranking methodology.

RBC's accomplishments in the Euromoney survey add to its recent recognition as "Best Private Bank in Canada" for the fifth consecutive year in the Global Private Banking Awards 2016 and best "Canadian Private Bank"" for a third consecutive year at the 2016 Family Wealth Report Awards.
