MILWAUKEE, Feb. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The engine experts
at Briggs & Stratton Corporation have once again answered the call from homeowners for a better lawn mower engine with its
new Mow N' Stow® engine featuring Just Check & Add™ technology.
Tackling two issues raised time and again by homeowners, Briggs & Stratton's newest innovation offers an engine that can
be stored upright and will never require an oil change* – simply check and add oil when necessary. When paired, these
engine technologies power a lawn mower that is both easy to maintain and easy to store. To achieve a 70 percent reduced storage
footprint, Briggs & Stratton continued to work closely with Toro® to offer this new engine on the
Toro Recycler® with SmartStow®, where the Mow N' Stow engine was first
featured.
"Briggs & Stratton introduced both of these innovations separately over the past three years and we're now combining the
technology to meet homeowner needs," said Rick Zeckmeister, vice president of engines marketing
and planning at Briggs & Stratton. "Homeowners tell us that storage space and maintenance, including annual oil changes, are
two of their biggest issues with outdoor power equipment. The Mow N' Stow featuring Just Check & Add solves both."
"We've seen great success with the Just Check and Add innovation on the Toro all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive models,
so launching it on our SmartStow models is an exciting next step," said Wade Tollison, Jr., senior
marketing manager at Toro. "Our collaboration with Briggs & Stratton helps us build mowers that meet consumers' unmet needs
for more storage space and easier maintenance, without compromising on mowing power, performance and productivity."
A lawn mower that folds
To enable the engine to be stored upright, Briggs & Stratton's engineers developed a way to prevent oil and gas
from leaking out. The patented design includes new vents, oil seals and gaskets and a unique fuel tank design. The engine is
available on select Toro Recycler with SmartStow mowers, which fold in three simple, tool-free steps to reduce overall storage
space by 70 percent**.
Maintenance Made Easy
The Just Check & Add technology helps keep dirt and debris out of the engine and keeps the engine running cooler.
Clean oil and cooler oil means slower decay and breakdown of the oil. This means that consumers need to only check the oil level
and add oil as necessary*. Regular scheduled maintenance must still be performed.
The new engine will be available exclusively on select Toro Recycler with SmartStow mowers at authorized Toro dealers and The
Home Depot® in early 2017.
The Mow N' Stow engine featuring Just Check & Add technology is made in the U.S.A. of
U.S. and global parts at Briggs & Stratton's Poplar Bluff, Mo. plant. For more information,

terms and conditions apply. Just Check & Add does not extend the warranty period.
**Space savings are in relation to the space consumed by a Toro 22" walk power mower that is stored with the handle in
the standard operating position.
