Project 24 is an effort to bring clean water to 24,000 people across Cambodia, Colombia, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines on World Water Day, March 22.

On World Water Day, Planet Water is erecting 24 "AquaTower" water filtration systems in a 24-hour period. Each tower filters water to remove bacteria, protozoa, viruses, pathogens, and other contaminants to produce clean water for a community of approximately 1,000 people. This "green" solution operates without power or the use of chemicals and can be easily maintained.

The Pantay Elementary School and the Pantay Matanda village get their water from the local water district, but the water is not potable. Waterborne diseases are therefore common in the village - especially among children under three years old.

According to Planet Water, 1 in 10 people globally lack access to clean water, and 1 in 4 people use a drinking water source with fecal contamination. The purpose of Planet Water's AquaTowers is to provide small communities with easy access to clean water in an effort to save lives.

“Our company is delighted to be a sponsor once again of the Planet Water Foundation and Project 24,” said Robert J. Pagano, Jr., Chief Executive Officer and President of Watts Water Technologies, Inc. “Our mission is to improve comfort, safety, and quality of life for people around the world through our expertise in water technologies. Central to this is helping people access clean, safe water.”
