Trend Micro Executive Named to Top 50 Influential Hispanic Leaders in Latin America/Ibero America
Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, today announced that Hernán Armbruster, vice president
and managing director for Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, has been named one of the Top 50 Influential Hispanic Leaders in
Latin America/Ibero America by the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC).
Armbruster has more than 23 years of experience in the IT security industry and leads the Trend Micro regional teams in Canada,
Latin America and the Caribbean in sales and marketing strategies that maximize growth opportunities with global business partners
in those regions. He manages all aspects of operations for seven offices in four countries overseeing more than 100 employees. He
has been a part of Trend Micro’s operations in Latin America since it began in 1997.
“Hernán has spent more than 20 years of his career in the IT industry. His expertise, industry network and business savvy are
some of the reasons for our success in the Latin America market,” said Kevin Simzer, executive vice president, sales, marketing and
business development for Trend Micro. “He has been instrumental in establishing Trend Micro in the Latin America region, and his
leadership has propelled growth in his markets. Hernán is a humble and dedicated team member who demonstrates true business
partnership by deeply understanding the needs of his customers.”
Armbruster also integrates community support in his regions to make the digital world a safer place for everyone. In Latin
America, Armbruster’s team has provided approximately 50 threat defense trainings to IT professionals and students in more than 20
cities to share the latest information on advanced threats such as ransomware or how to protect hybrid cloud environments. In
addition, Armbruster’s regions are also closely involved with law enforcement officials investigating cybercrime by providing
intelligence and training that improve these law officers’ ability to solve these cases.
HITEC is the premier global executive leadership organization of senior business and IT executives. Since 2011, the 50 most
influential and notable Hispanic professionals in the information technology industry from Latin America/Ibero-America have been
recognized for their leadership and achievements in the industry and in their communities. Recipients were honored at the HITEC 50
Awards Luncheon in Dallas, Texas on April 7.
“The core mission of the HITEC 50 program is to highlight and showcase outstanding executives who have excelled in the business
of IT, are role models who inspire young people to pursue careers in technology and motivate professionals to continue to excel and
connect with the Hispanic community,” said Andre Arbelaez, president of HITEC. “We at HITEC are very impressed with and proud of
the class of 2017 honorees, and we congratulate and salute them for their continued career achievements in the ever-changing global
landscape of information technology.”
