Webster Financial Corporation Increases Common Dividend

WATERBURY, Conn., April 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), the holding company for Webster Bank, N.A., announced today that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $.26 per share on its common stock, an increase of $.01 from the previous $.25 per share.

James C. Smith, chairman and CEO, said, "In light of Webster's continued solid financial performance and strong capital position, the Board of Directors voted to increase the dividend on our common shares."

The dividend on the common shares will be payable May 22, 2017 to shareholders of record on May 8, 2017.

On its Series E Preferred Stock, Webster declared a quarterly cash dividend of $400.00 per share ($.40 per each depository share, 1,000 of which represent one share of Series E Preferred Stock), payable June 15, 2017 to shareholders of record on June 1, 2017.
