HilltopSecurities Associates Raise $70K for the 2017 Alliance Data Red Balloon Run & Ride

Hilltop Securities Inc. (HTS) served as a proud sponsor of the 2017 Alliance Data Red Balloon Run & Ride (RBRR) – a family-friendly run, walk and cycling event benefiting Dallas-based pediatric health care provider Children’s Health. In addition to the company’s $20,000 sponsorship, HTS associates raised $50,000 through a national internal donation campaign.

“This is the second consecutive year that the firm and its associates have hit the $70,000 donation mark,” said Robert W. Peterson, HilltopSecurities President/Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Children’s Medical Center Dallas Board of Directors. “It’s a testament to the values of our firm and associates – they have big hearts and a genuine, passionate drive to give back to our communities. I thank them for proving time and time again that, above all, HilltopSecurities cares.”

The firm’s fundraising campaign was co-chaired by Carol Garza, Vice President – Capital Markets, and Joy Alexander, Executive Assistant. The effort encompassed a series of employee-led fundraisers including, but not limited to, jeans days, ice cream float sales, weekly bingo games and a pie toss that featured the firm’s senior leadership as targets.

As a sponsor, HTS presided over the event’s Team Tent Zone and the firm’s associates took part in judging RBRR’s other team fundraising tents. At the culmination of the 5k run and bicycle rally, Peterson, 2017 donation campaign Co-Chairs Garza and Alexander and 2016 campaign Chair Michael Rendón presented the annual team tent trophy. Approximately 200 HTS associates were in attendance on the day of the event, including the firm’s donation campaign volunteers, who staffed promotional-item tables, a fresh-popped popcorn station and a children’s coloring contest table within the RBRR Team Tent Zone.

The 2017 Red Balloon Run & Ride is a fundraising event coordinated by Passion for Children’s, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization seeking to raise $825,000 for the exclusive benefit of Children’s Health. The event itself features a 1k and 5k run/walk as well as 5k and 23-, 26-, 27- and 72-mile bike rallies.
