Citi Awarded Top Ranking in 2017 Global Custodian Mutual Fund Administration Survey
Citi has distinguished itself from the competition with above average market scores across all survey categories. Global
Custodian noted that Citi’s results were especially impressive, given that its responses were primarily from clients with higher
Assets under Management (AUM) compared to the survey responses for all providers. The survey measured client evaluations of mutual
fund administration providers across multiple dimensions including Relationship Management and Client Services, Value Delivered,
Fund Accounting and Valuation, Transfer Agency, Distribution Support, Fund Reporting, Compliance, and Operations and Custody. Citi
placed higher than the market average across all these categories.
Citi was ranked #1 in Distribution Support receiving a perfect score of 7, and #2 in Relationship Management and Client Service
(scoring 6.66) and Compliance (6.76). Global Custodian noted that Citi’s largest category increase was in reporting – an area where
Citi has devoted significant effort, as seen in the recent launch of its Velocity Clarity data and analytics platform.
Sanjiv Sawhney, Citi’s Global Head of Custody and Fund Services, said, “We are pleased that our clients approve of the job we’re
doing and that we’re delivering against our commitment to the best quality service. At Citi, we continue to work on providing
accessibility to real time data and dynamic reporting both as a result of increased regulatory filing requirements and scrutiny, as
well as the evolution of Big Data.”
Today, clients and industry participants alike continue to require more data, more frequently, and across multiple delivery
platforms driving significant technology investments by 3rd party administrators. Dynamic data management and data delivery tools
are essential in meeting the evolving needs of investment managers. Respondents described Citi as “an extension of our
organization,” praising our “experienced, knowledgeable staff” as well as our “excellent ability to manage multiple fund
projects.”
The Mutual Fund Administration Survey evaluates the performance of fund administrators with each other and within individual
markets. The results are based entirely on reports from clients on the performance of service providers.
